Veteran Comic Book Inker Bob Wiacek In Need Of Help
Veteran comic book inker Bob Wiacek — who worked on such titles as Marvel’s “Uncanny X-Men” with John Romita Jr., Walter Simonson on “X-Factor” and George Pérez on DC Comics’ “Brave and the Bold” — recently suffered an injury from a bad fall, causing him to lose more than a week’s worth of work.
Unable to produce as much work as he normally does, the comic creator has launched aGoFundMe page and reached out to fans, asking for some financial assistance.
“I have been a comic book/graphic artist for over 40 years. It has been difficult but I’ve managedto get through the tough times yet since my wife passed away over 3 years ago I have to live on a very modest income which I have been able to do until now,” Wiacek explained on his GoFundMe page. “Naturally it will heal but that is going to take time and I’m seriously getting behind in my bills and taxes which I have to pay by the end of the month of September ’15. I livewith my son who has a job and helps out when he can.”
Wiacek also said that anyone that sends in $40 or more will receive a drawing of any comic book character they’d like.
Fans have completely funded Bob's goal of $10,000 but it is not too late to help out a great guy!
